LEAGUE SHIRTS
If you are new to the league, your shirts are now on order and should be here in two weeks time, these shirts will have the new logos of our additional sponsors. We would like to thank Bowlrite Proshops in particular Jez Darvill for sponsoring our league shirts, our thanks also goes to Justin Sullivan for his continued sponsorship and we welcome Neil Shand too.

COACHING ON SATURDAY MORNINGS
During the summer the instructors met to discuss changes to the format of Saturday morning coaching and decided to bring in a few new restraints that will be advantageous to both Tolworth Bowl and the bowlers.During your league bowling the instructors are assessing your bowling and completing a rating form, this will enable the instructor working on the lanes with you to know more about your individual bowling and enable them to assess where you need help. The instructors will be using a variety of techniques to improve a bowler’s knowledge, technique and overall ability. For example last week one instructor had the bowlers with him in practice, counting boards; this was to help establish where they stand and bowl the ball! From the Saturday after half-term, 3rd November bowlers participating in these sessions will be required to pay £1.00 to the instructor when going on to the lane, this is to ensure we have bowlers who want to learn and practice taking part. The money raised from this will be put back into coaching.
Congratulations to last year’s Junior Captain Chloe Bruton who passed her Phase 1 Instructors course last month and also to Chris Greene (a parent) who also passed.
Tournaments
Firstly, a very belated congratulations to Josh Buller who bowled for the England under 16’s team in the Triple Crown tournament held in Dublin, where he bowled a fantastic average of 213 over 15 games. He then qualified for the masters bowling a personal best game of 298 and collected 2 gold and 3 silver medals on the way.Brilliant bowling!!England won the Triple Crown ahead of Scotland, Wales and the host Country Ireland.
During the last six weeks we have tried to get ourselves organized for this season’s calendar, but there are still no final venues and tournament formats for the BTBA Tour tournament scheduled for next weekend and the weekend after. As soon as we know we will inform you. If you haven’t returned your JTE or BTBA Tour tournament form please do so without delay, otherwise we will get caught out, by not being ready.
Thank you to all the parents who have paid in advance for the tournaments; that is a great help, as we have to fund tournament entries in advance.
The JTE tour bowlers have managed to bowl in the Bowlplex Poole Doubles in September. Tolworth Bullseye – Josh Buller and Simon Ashton finished 12th with a team scratch total 2292 in division A.Josh Sharp and Jamie Rosenberg finished 24th, Jenna Buller and Steven Spiking finished 32nd in Division B.
Next one up on the JTE Tour is the Eliminator Singles in Peterborough which is over the weekend of 17th/18th November.Good luck to our participants.
The Bowlathon raised a final total of £2,058, finally we have now sent a cheque to the Princess Alice Hospice for the sum of £1,132.
Well done to everyone who sponsored the Juniors, contributed to this collection or took part.
