Dear Members and Parents

As we complete another successful season and we head for our summer holidays, the YBC Committee are starting to plan for next season.

Firstly here are the important dates for your diaries:-

Saturday 16^th July                             Last week of all YBC leagues

Saturday 23^rd July 9 am               Young Ones A and B Fun bowl followed by Presentation

Saturday 10^th September 9 am   New season begins

·         Please note this is when you notify us of your bowling team members and give us your team name

·         Complete your registration by paying any outstanding monies and complete the registration form for the coming season

Saturday 24^th September following on from bowling Tolworth YBC will be holding their Annual General Meeting

Following on from our last YBC Committee meeting we would like as a committee to move forward.  Having assessed and discussed issues that have arisen during the course of this season, we are proposing to expand our Committee to include a parent representative from both the BTBA Tour and the JTE Tour.  We believe the NAYBC Tournament structure is remaining unchanged and will still have the two tours running alongside each other with a few combined events.  If you are willing to take this role on, please let one of the existing committee know if you are interested or ask further questions.  These persons would be co-opted on to the Committee by the Chairperson following the AGM and a meeting of the new Executive Committee.

With regard to the current committee Mick Barnett, Sheila Ashton, Angela Steward and Jackie Greene are all willing to stand again for re-election.  Sheila has informed us that this will be her last year as Treasurer should she be re-elected and would therefore welcome a parent to join the Committee to work alongside for the coming season.  Once again if you would be prepared to take this role on, then please speak to a committee member for further information.

All prospective Committee members would be required to go through some formalities in line with the requirements of both the BTBA and NAYBC, our Governing bodies; this can take time hence we are planning now for the next twelve months.

 After the newsletter was printed we received an email from Jackie Green resignation as Secretary, due to heavy work commitments.  Therefore, we are seeking a new Secretary; closing date for new nominations must be received by the Committee no later than 10^th September 2011.  All nominations must be proposed and seconded by a Junior Member of the YBC.

We wish to express our thanks to Jackie for her support throughout the last year.
