County Qualifying Roll-Off
For Junior, YAC, Adult & Seniors
To be held at Charrington Bowl Tolworth, Kingston Road. Surbiton. KT5 9PB

County Team
Qualifying
1. The
County Championship teams will be made up of the following divisions; Junior,
YAC, Adult & Senior both Male and Female.
2. Each
respective division (both male and female) will include those bowlers who fall
within the following age qualification groups
Junior
– Under 14/16 is a combined event, but must be under 14, Under 16 and Under 18
as of 31/08/11 : YAC Under 24 as of 1st January 2012 : Adult – Any age:
Senior – 50 or over as of 01/05/12. Adult
Team England players will have the right to be seeded into the ICC squad of 15
players should they chose not to play the county team qualifying event
3. Juniors
who wish to take part in the Adult divisions may do on condition that they
produce a “junior/adult” BTBA membership card, or pay the prevailing additional
membership fee.
4. Team
selection will be based upon the following criteria;
a)
Junior, YAC, Adult and Senior Men
(including any bonus pins for seniors only) - selection from the top 15 final
positions achieved by all entrants in their respective eligible championship
teams (10 games) subject to seeded adult Team England players being positioned
within the ICC squad only at the lowest positions(s) of the qualifying players.
b) Senior
Ladies (including any bonus pins) – selection from the top 15 final positions
achieved by all entrants (5 games, or in the case of entrants entering for full
Adult County team status also their first five games played from the 10 will
count for senior ladies)
5. In cases
of the Junior, YAC, Adult and Senior divisions only the top two qualifiers in
each division will be guaranteed at least two games during the qualifying
rounds. The exception being U14/16 division where only the top bowler is
guaranteed at least two games.
Rules and Regulations
6. The
roll-offs will be sanctioned by the BTBA and run in accordance with;
a) General
playing rules & Tournament rules of the BTBA.
b) Inter-County
rules and regulations (2011 Revision)
7. The
roll-off is open to all those who meet the following conditions;
a) Hold
British citizenship.
b) Born
within the 1961 Surrey county boundaries or have been resident within said
boundaries for at least 12 months. (Serving members of HM forces and dependants
shall qualify after a six month residential period)
c) Meet
the appropriate age qualification given above
d) Be
a current member of the BTBA
e) Players
signed declaration of eligibility *refer
to entry form overleaf
8) The
County roll-off Manager will be the Surrey Area Chairperson who reserves the
right to cancel any squad and reschedule
9) Registration
will commence 30 minutes prior to squad time on entry form. Entrants must show
a current BTBA card, members who are unable to do so may participate on payment
of full the prevailing BTBA membership rate.
10) Any
entrant arriving late will count their scores from the frame being bowled.
11) All
entrants will move after each game as directed by the tournament manager.
12) Dress code:
No Denim in any form or shorts No ¾ length or combat style trousers (male or
female) No sleeveless and/or collarless shirts or “T” shirts. Failure to be correctly dressed at any stage
of the event will result in entry being refused without refund of fee. The
decision of the Area Tournament Manager and Area Association committee will be final.
12a) Disputes
and protests must be made within 30 minutes of the game in which the infraction
took place and must be submitted in writing within 72 hours to the County
roll-off manager. The decision of the County Association will be final, subject
to appeal to the BTBA. A provisional ball may be bowled if a dispute on pinfall
or a foul cannot be resolved immediately.
14) No
persons other than the registered entrants are allowed in the seating or
approach area during the event. All entrants are reminded that food and drink
is not allowed in the playing area and there will be no smoking or consumption
of alcoholic beverages for the duration of the roll-off by any competitor.
Failure to maintain these rules may result in disqualification without refund.
BTBA Rule 333 applies.
15) Lane
maintenance will be carried out prior to the start of all squads
16) Entry
fees will be non-returnable after squad times have been accepted. An entry may
be sold to an eligible replacement with the County roll-off mangers approval.
In the event of illness or injury an entrant may alter their entry to the
remaining date after first notifying the County Roll-off manger providing there
are sufficient spaces available.
17) Cheques
to be made payable to “Surrey Area Bowling Association” or “SABA” The closing
date for entries will be postmarked 15th January
2012. Entries may be accepted exceptionally after this date providing there are
sufficient squad times available, and they are received with full entry fee no
later than Friday 20th January 2012 and the County roll-off manager
approves entry. NO ENTRY WILL BE CONSIDERED AFTER THIS DATE. Squad times will
only be confirmed if different from those required with entry form. However if
the entrant contacts by telephone or email the squadding manager he will
confirm squad times, but accepts no responsibility for “lost emails” or
unreturned phone calls or loss of entry form due to non receipt of post.
