TOURNAMENT RULES
1. This is a JTE ranking event. The General Playing and Tournament Rules of the B.T.B.A. together with the following special rules shall govern this tournament.
2. The tournament is open to all JTE members who must be in possession of a current B.T.B.A. membership card. Non-production of a card will result in a £5.00 fine.
3. All bowlers must be under the age of 19 years as at August 31st 2010
4. There will be four divisions: NB Mixed Male/Female pairings will bowl in Male Divisions
Division 1: Under 19 Male (as at 31st Aug 2010)
Division 2: Under 19 Female (as at 31st Aug 2010)
Division 3: Under 17 Male (as at 31st Aug 2010)
Division 4: Under 17 Female (as at 31st Aug 2010)
5. Format will be doubles throughout the qualifying rounds. All bowlers will bowl eight qualifying games, moving lanes after every two games. The top six bowlers from each division will contest the two game elimination finals, to be held after the final qualifying squad on Sunday 11th July, 2010 (approximately 6 pm).
6. Squads will be mixed divisions in order that YBCs can travel together.
7. The tournament is a scratch tournament. Prizes are based on an entry of 100 Teams and may be adjusted up or down according to the number of entries. Prizes will be awarded for the first three places in each division provided there are at least eight teams in the division. Re-entries are not permitted.
8. Entry Fees ~ Total £31 each, £62 per doubles pair.
Bowling fees £19.20 (8 games) Prize fund £6 Tournament expenses £5.80 (inc. £3 contributions to Junior Team England Fund, 50p to Surrey Area, 50p to YBC).
9. Entries will be squadded on a first come first served basis. Bowlers from local centres will be expected to bowl in the early squads. Preference will be given to YBCs travelling in excess of 100 miles.
10. Registration will be 30 minutes prior to bowling. Only like for like alterations can be made on the day, before registration commences due to the lane draw taking place at registration. If all bowlers are present and registered then the Tournament Manager has the right to start the squad early. Tardy players will commence play at the frame in progress as directed by the Tournament Manager.
11. Entry fees must accompany the entry form, these to be received by the Tournament Manager by closing date no later than 1st July 2010. Cheques should be made payable to Tolworth YBC. It is the responsibility of the Y.B.C. official to ensure that their entries have been received. Refunds will not be made once entry has been accepted and squadding agreed.
12. Any changes to pairings must be notified to the Tournament Manager no less than 5 (five) clear days before the date of bowling.
13. Shirts must bear the name of a Y.B.C. or the players name. Sponsors details may be included except for alcohol or tobacco products. Casual shorts, denim clothing or jeans of any description will not be permitted, however, skorts, culottes and tailored short trousers may be allowed. Mobile phones must be turned off during match play and are not permitted in the playing area. No competitor will be allowed to consume alcoholic beverages anywhere in the centre during the tournament. Any breach of this rule will result in immediate disqualification from the tournament. Profane language, improper gestures or abuse of the bowling equipment or machinery may also result in disqualification. Any disqualification will result in the loss of scores and awards. Any player whose conduct is likely to bring the sport into disrepute will be disqualified from the tournament and reported to the B.T.B.A. for consideration of disciplinary proceedings.
14. Bowlers are expected to keep up with the pace of play. Any bowler not ready to bowl at the earliest opportunity will score zero for the frame in play.
15. Only Tournament Officials, Competitors and one licensed Instructor/Coach will be allowed in the players area during the game. For details of Coaching/Instructing see BTBA rule 333. Coaches and Instructors are required to display their license at all times and also to be dressed in accordance with their position.
16. The Tournament Manager Sheila Ashton reserves the right to re-rate or reject any entry. A provisional ball shall be rolled if a dispute relating to pinfall cannot be resolved immediately. Protests should be made to the Tournament Manager within 30 minutes of the end of the game in question and confirmed in writing before the end of the tournament.
17. The Tournament Managers decision is final, subject to appeal to the B.T.B.A
18. JTE ranking points will be awarded to the top 100 boys and top 100 girls, with 1st receiving 100 points 2nd 99 points etc. following the 8 games qualification. For bowlers who cannot qualify for JTE, their points will count towards qualification for the Junior UK Championship.
